Sian was a woman who defined herself by her relationships. She was a loved mother to Toby and Lucy. Her children will carry with them her love, her laugh, and her spirit for the rest their lives. For them, she wasn’t just a mom; she was at the center of everything.
She was the daughter of Margaret and John who raised her with love. She returned this love to them in full all through her life. She was Mark ’s loving companion, whose support and company during the most trying of times will be remembered, as well as Stephen ’s beloved sister and Janet ’s sister-in law.
Sian is also a , niece to Peter, Joy, the late John, part of an extended network of family members who will miss her and cherish the memories of her for many years.
Sian would have wanted a celebration of life in bright colours.
In celebration of Sian’s love of family, friends, and life, the family made a request. This isn’t a formal request — it’s an expression of someone who loved color, joy, life, and all its facets. Only a family that truly knows the person can make such a request.
Sian’s celebration of her life won’t be a gathering in mourning. It will be a celebration of life full of love, colour and memories, just as she deserved.

The Anthony Nolan Trust works tirelessly in the UK to match stem cells donors with patients who desperately need them. Many of these are children and teenagers suffering from life-threatening blood diseases. Sian’s spirit will live on through every donation made in her name.

Sixty-five years are not enough. Sian Chathyoka fought, loved, and lived her life to the fullest. Within those 56-years, Sian Chathyoka built something that would last far longer – a family that adored her; friendships that sustained and upheld her; and a warm and colourful legacy that will be carried by those who knew and loved her for the rest of their life.
She showed courage even when it seemed impossible. She maintained dignity in a time when others may have stumbled. She brought colour to the lives of those around her, and at her memorial, all who loved her will be wearing that colour.
