98. Cedric Kenneth Sharp obituary of Riverside, Llanmorlais, lived very nearly a full century. And he spent those years in one of the most beautiful corners of the Gower peninsula, close to the tidal estuary and the community he called home. He passed away peacefully at Tŷ Olwen, Morriston Hospital, on 15th August 2026.

He was the loving father of David and his wife Lynne, the much-loved Grandpa of Kathryn and her husband Andrew, and JoJo and her husband Thomas. He was also the much-loved Great Grampie of Hadleigh and Isla — four generations of family that Cedric helped build across nearly a century of life.

His passing has been published in the Swansea Evening Post death notices, Llanmorlais and the wider Gower community pausing to honour a man who lived long and was loved well.

Nearly a Century on the Gower

Llanmorlais sits on the northern edge of the Gower peninsula, where the Burry estuary meets the saltmarsh and the views stretch across to Carmarthenshire. To spend 98 years in a place like that rooted, present, watching the seasons and the tides is not a small life. It is a life so fully inhabited that the landscape itself becomes part of who you are.

Cedric was of that place. Riverside, Llanmorlais. The address says as much as any biography could about the kind of man he was steady, local, connected to the land and the community around him across almost a century of living.

Great Grampie — A Title That Belongs Only to Him

Cedric was Grandpa to Kathryn and JoJo — but to Hadleigh and Isla, he was Great Grampie. That particular title, chosen by a family and shaped by the way small children first try to say difficult words, belongs to Cedric and no one else.

To reach great-grandparenthood is a privilege that requires both longevity and love the years to get there, and the relationships to make it meaningful. Cedric had both. Hadleigh and Isla will grow up knowing they had a Great Grampie who reached 98, which is itself a kind of inheritance.

The Family He Leaves Behind

Loving Father of David and Lynne

Cedric was the loving father of David, and warmly welcomed David’s wife Lynne as part of the family. His son and daughter-in-law will feel his loss in the particular way that comes when a parent who has always been there is suddenly not.

Much-Loved Grandpa

He was the much-loved Grandpa of Kathryn and her husband Andrew, and JoJo and her husband Thomas. The inclusion of their husbands by name in his notice speaks to a man who extended his warmth to whoever joined his family, without distinction.

Great Grampie to Hadleigh and Isla

And as Great Grampie to Hadleigh and Isla, Cedric reached the kind of milestone that anchors a family across four generations. A presence that will be felt in its absence at every gathering that comes next.

Cedric Kenneth Sharp Obituary: A Life Fully Lived

98 in Llanmorlais. A son, grandchildren, great-grandchildren who called him Great Grampie. A peaceful passing at Tŷ Olwen, cared for at the end as he deserved to be. Cedric Kenneth Sharp obituary lived the kind of long, rooted, family-centred life that leaves the landscape of a place a little quieter for his absence.
